“ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” (Psalm 51:10-13)
Corrie Ten Boom declared, “There is no sin so deep that His grace is not deeper still.” God is able and willing to cleanse us from any and all sin. Now would be a great time to draw nigh to God and make sure things are right with Him.
Though nothing can separate us from God, we know that our sin can cause Him to withdraw His favor and communion with us. The Holy Spirit indwells all New Testament believers. Through Him we enjoy fellowship, fulness, and fruitfulness. It is of utmost importance that we do not grieve nor quench the Spirit’s working in our lives.
When we have confessed our sin and forsaken it, we must accept and rejoice in God’s forgiveness. Praise the Lord that we can be free from our burden of sin!
God can use what we learn from His dealings with us to instruct and inspire others. May He help us to rise from the mire of our sin and to realize that when we do we can lift many others out of the mire with us.
