2020-2021 Convocation Statement

Theme verse: Isaiah 58:12
“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”

Restorer – again – turn back – return to the starting point – to lay the foundations again.

At Shining Light, our students learn the right use of knowledge in the context of character with a heart for God and others.

Wisdom provides the ability to use knowledge properly. And, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. Character is consistent. Character attracts like character. Character determines destiny. Who we are determines what we will do with our lives.

Without context and character, knowledge is misunderstood, misrepresented and misapplied. We become those who are ever learning; but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

It is our privilege to teach and equip the whole person – mentally, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually. We are a Distinctively Christian Life Skills Academy using the fixed point of reference of God’s Holy Word to teach the way of salvation, the mind of Christ, integrity and honor.

We come alongside parents, grandparents and caregivers to help lay a solid foundation of faith and academics upon which your child can build a beautiful life – not just a living – a life of advancement and blessing. A life of significance is to be chosen over the arbitrarily defined life of success.

We believe all children are made in the image of God, are loved by God and that He has a purpose, a plan for their lives. They are the stewards of the abilities and opportunities He entrusts to them, and for which they will give account in that day.

We believe that all truth is God’s truth and only the truth can make you free. As we speak the truth in love, we challenge our students to be Shining Lights, to think, to be real and to be free.

We are honored and humbled that you would entrust your child to us to help prepare him or her for a bright future. Our students are truly Jawsome! It’s going to be a Fintastic year!
